Join a walking tour and marvel at Passau’s Gothic and Italian Baroque architecture and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Or take a guided hike up to the Veste Oberhaus fortress. You can also ride to Wernstein on a guided bike tour.

For those who love The Sound of Music, enjoy a full-day excursion to Salzburg and tour the historic center, Mirabell Gardens, Residenz Square and the Old Market. En route to Salzburg, stop at Mondsee, home of the Basilica St. Michael, where the famous wedding scene in the movie was filmed. You may also choose to join a full-day excursion to the charming Czech mountain town of Český Krumlov, where you can stroll its cobblestone streets; marvel at the city’s picturesque Baroque and Renaissance-style buildings; and tour Krumlov Castle, one of Europe’s largest castle complexes. Following these full-day excursions, you may also choose to take a brief walking tour in Linz. Alternatively, join a walking tour through the old city center of Linz and by the Mozart House; or bike along the city’s famed “Cultural Mile” and the Danube. Later in the day, visit Greinburg Castle, the oldest residential castle in Austria.

Greinburg Castle visit

In the morning, you can visit the 900-year-old Melk Abbey situated high atop the granite cliffs of the Danube. You can also opt to join a guided hike to the abbey, with the option to join the guided tour, or you may choose to bike to Marbach before returning to Melk and the ship for lunch. During the afternoon, journey to Spitz and take a guided excursion to Dürnstein to stroll along the cobblestone streets to the Baroque Stiftskirche, with its famed church tower on a walking tour. Those who wish a more active adventure of the area can hike to the historic Dürnstein Fortress, cycle through Spitz, or hike around Spitz up to Rotes Tor. In the evening, be treated to an exclusive wine festival where you’ll enjoy some of the region’s famous wines.

Exclusive Wine Experience

Vienna offers a wealth of gems and your city tour showcases its regal splendors, including the majestic Opera House and the former Imperial Palace of the Habsburgs. Conclude your tour in Vienna’s historic city center, and then visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral; or discover Vienna by bike. During the afternoon, visit the Palace of Schönbrunn, an exquisite example of Baroque architecture and opulence. Built as the summer residence of the Habsburg Emperors and spanning an astounding 1,441 rooms, this Rococo palace soon became one of their favorite homes. Your visit will include a guided tour of the Imperial apartments, the carriage museum and the equally impressive gardens.

During the morning, sail toward Budapest, passing through the scenic Danube Bend where you’ll see some of Hungary’s oldest settlements, including Esztergom, Visegrád and Szentendre. Budapest offers an unmatched combination of culture and tradition. On the Buda side of the city, follow your guide through the city’s Castle District where you will marvel at the fairytale turrets of Fisherman’s Bastion, gaze upon the breathtaking panorama below and see Matthias Church, renowned for its striking tower and colorful mosaic roof. For a more active tour, hike to Budapest’s Castle Hill.

Rates INCLUDE port taxes of $250 per person and gratuities of $182 per person.

Double pricing is based on double occupancy or two people per stateroom.
Single pricing is based on one person per stateroom and is capacity-controlled by AmaWaterways and subject to change.

Required Deposit: $1,750 per person for double occupancy or $2,250 for single occupancy, plus a non-refundable Global Tracks administration fee of $100 per person

Cancellation Schedule: Cancellation penalties apply once deposit is paid, so please review policy below.

International Flights and Airport Transfers are not included: Global Tracks will book your air arrangements for a $100 per person ticketing fee, or you may choose to handle your own reservation. Airport transfers can be purchased once your flights are confirmed.

Passports: Passports are required for all guests and must be valid for six months after the end of the cruise, or January 12, 2027.

Global Tracks offers optional travel insurance. Travel insurance is strongly suggested and will give you the opportunity to recover monies lost through cancellations. We offer Allianz Travel Insurance as an option. Premiums vary depending on your age and the cost of your trip. Purchase within 15 days of deposit for additional benefits.

AmaWaterways Airport Transfers:

  • If you book your airfare with AmaWaterways, roundtrip group transfers between the airport and ship are included.
  • If you do not book your airfare with AmaWaterways, group transfers between the airport and ship can be purchased for an additional $30 per person, per way.

Booking Terms and Conditions:

Cancellation Penalties: All cancellations must be made in writing to Global Tracks. Travel insurance and airfare are non-refundable once purchased. Any payment to Global Tracks constitutes your acceptance of the terms and conditions set herein, including but not limited to the cancellation terms. All cancellations are subject to the Global Tracks administration fee of $100 per person paid at deposit in addition to the below schedule:

Global Tracks and the Purdue President’s Council are committed to providing you with exceptional cruise and travel experiences. However, there are circumstances beyond our control that may affect the operation of our travel programs.

We strongly recommend that all passengers purchase comprehensive travel insurance. Travel insurance can provide coverage in the event of trip cancellations, delays, or interruptions due to unforeseen circumstances, including those considered force majeure events. “Force Majeure” means any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Global Tracks and the Purdue President’s Council including, but without limitation, acts of God, war or threat of war declared or undeclared, acts of terrorism, government intervention, riots, strikes, civil disturbance, sickness, pandemics, quarantine, weather conditions, defects in machinery and vehicles, delay, wildlife, or other untoward occurrences.

While we make every effort to adhere to the advertised cruise itinerary, we and our partners reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel any part of the cruise without prior notice. Such changes are made with the safety and well-being of our passengers in mind. In the event of a cancellation due to a force majeure event, we will assess the situation on a case-by-case basis.
