Cruise Itinerary:

Embark onboard the Silversea Silver Moon.

Journey through some of Alaska’s most awe-inspiring scenery, weaving between craggy islands and glacial behemoths. Cruise this 500-mile stretch of the Inside Passage past towering mountains that rise dramatically from the shoreline, while clusters of islands dot the dark waters with mesmerizing precision. Known for its calm, sheltered waters, this route is a haven of stunning natural spectacles. Killer whales often escort ships through icy channels, harbor seals lounge on drifting ice floes, and humpback whales breach, their graceful movements a testament to the tranquility of these wild landscapes.

Known as the “Salmon Capital of the World”, Ketchikan offers an exhilarating introduction to wild Alaska. Situated at the southern gateway to the Inside Passage, this vibrant city is surrounded by larger-than-life scenery. Whether cruising its waters or soaring overhead in a sightseeing plane, the breathtaking beauty of the Misty Fjords National Monument is unforgettable. This majestic area is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Grizzly and black bears roam its rugged terrain, while whales and seals glide through its waters. For a closer encounter with nature, visit the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary, home to bald eagles, black bears, and the remarkable yellow banana slug. Dive into the cultural richness of Ketchikan at the Totem Heritage Center, where intricately carved totem poles celebrate the traditions of indigenous peoples. Boasting the world’s largest collection, this site preserves some of the oldest and most precious totems in existence. Surrounded by spectacular landscapes and brimming with wildlife, history, and culture, Ketchikan is a captivating blend of rugged adventure and rich heritage.

Juneau, Alaska’s remote capital, offers extraordinary adventures amidst dramatic wilderness. Encircled by towering mountains and vast glaciers, the city feels carved from nature itself. The majestic Mendenhall Glacier, just 12 miles from downtown, cascades into its own lake, while the vast Juneau Icefield spawns 38 ice flows, including the mile-deep Taku Glacier. Visitors can soar above the icy expanse on thrilling sightseeing flights, fish in krill-rich waters, or kayak beneath towering glaciers. Wildlife abounds, with bald eagles, bears, and migrating humpbacks calling this rugged landscape home. Whether exploring by air, land, or sea, Juneau’s awe-inspiring scenery never disappoints.

Skagway, steeped in the spirit of the gold rush, offers a treasure trove of natural beauty and adventure. The historic downtown and Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park preserve the excitement of the 1890’s, while jagged mountain ridges, soaring pine forests, and snow-capped peaks provide a stunning backdrop. Ride the iconic White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, one of the world’s most spectacular railroads, winding through colossal scenery, tumbling waterfalls, and deep gorges. Explore trails like the Chilkoot Trail, where gold seekers once walked, or witness salmon-filled rivers, brown bears, and bald eagles in their natural habitat. Offshore, whales roam, and nearby glaciers creak and calve, completing Skagway’s dramatic allure.

Sitka is one of the oldest and most culturally significant communities in Alaska, filled with rich Tlingit, Russian, and early American settler history. Sitka is famous for its spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, the copper-domed St. Michael’s Cathedral, the Pioneer Home, and the Russian Bishop’s House. It contains 22 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is where the contract of sale was signed transferring Alaska from Russia to the United States. Delve into Tlingit culture at Sitka National Historical Park, home to towering totem poles marking the historic 1804 battleground. Whether hiking Kruzof Island, fishing for King salmon, or savoring waterfront cuisine, Sitka is a treasure trove of natural and cultural wonders.

Hubbard Glacier, nestled off the coast of Yakutat, Alaska, is North America’s largest glacier, with a stunning calving front that stretches more than six miles wide. Its vast expanse originates 76 miles inland, feeding this mighty force of nature that has surged twice in the past 30 years. Named after Gardiner Greene Hubbard, a prominent U.S. lawyer, financier, and philanthropist, as well as the first president of the National Geographic Society, this awe-inspiring glacier continues to captivate with its immense scale and relentless movement, carving its mark on Alaska’s rugged landscape.

Disembark the Silversea Silver Moon in Seward.
